Hope Community Development Agency (Hope CDA) has been instrumental in uniting community leaders, businesses and individuals from across the Gulf Coast in planning the Phenomenal People Celebration of Healing. With the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina quickly approaching, a week of events is being held during the last week of August across the Coast. This will not only be a time of memorializing and remembering those we lost but a celebration of our many accomplishments.
Remembering our Mississippi Gulf Coast tragedies, showcasing our triumphs and focusing upon our joint hope for the future, we speak with one voice. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our diverse, versatile and resilient communities, we have shown what can be achieved when phenomenal people from all walks of life band together for a common goal. The Mississippi Gulf Coast is back!

Mississippi Gulf Coast Unites for the 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina
With a strong positive message, WE ARE BACK.the kick off Press Conference with community, business & religious leaders, civic organizations and individuals from the East to the West borders of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, will be joining together in sharing Phenomenal People Celebration of Healing.
The 5th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is quickly approaching on August 29th. Memorials, concerts, galas, prayer breakfasts and a Coastal Torch Relay have been organized to showcase our Coastal Communities to the world, letting them know we have weathered the storm, we have grieved our losses and tragedies and we are now moving forward in celebration of our many accomplishments.
Thousands of volunteers that have been instrumental in our recovery and redevelopment have been invited to return to participate and to be honored at such a pivotal time in Mississippis history. From Waveland to Moss Point we are speaking with One Voice, we are standing shoulder to shoulder and will continue to combine our resources and carry on with our healing.
Bringing awareness to the successes and challenges of the Gulf Coast, the Celebration of Healing will reveal the experiences since Hurricane Katrina that may provide valuable lessons for our long-term recovery. Hope Community Development Agency, as the coordinating Agency for the festivities, has been instrumental in the recovery and the redevelopment of the Mississippi Gulf Coast working with families, businesses and communities to restore many areas of their lives. Forming partnerships has played a pivotal role in the environmentally sustainable reconstruction of our Coast as well as making this extraordinary occasion a time of remembrance along with a well deserved celebration.

The "Tears to Cheers Music Festival on the Beach" was held directly across from Treasure Bay Casino & Hotel on Saturday, August 21, 2010. The whole family was welcome for fantastic live music, food, drinks and a "KidZone". All proceeds support the American Red Cross, Hope Community Development Agency , and other area non-profit organizations.
